Scale Guide

Understanding scales can be confusing, so let’s break it down to help you make informed decisions.
Scales are typically represented as fractions, like 1/4 or 1:4, though sometimes they may use measurements such as centimeters. As an engineer, I prefer fractions, which is why you’ll only see those used in the listings. These fractions represent the scale compared to a full-sized 1:1 figure.
For example, the average height of a person ranges from 5 to 6 feet. To simplify, let’s assume the figure you’re considering is 6 feet tall. To determine its scaled size, divide the full height by the scale. A 6-foot figure at 1/6 scale would be 1 foot (12 inches) tall.
Here’s a quick reference table to illustrate:
1/3 Scale: 24" tall
1/4 Scale: 18" tall
1/5 Scale: 15" tall
1/6 Scale: 12" tall
1/9 Scale: 9" tall
1/12 Scale: 6" tall
Keep in mind that larger characters, like the Hulk, will exceed these measurements at the same scale because their full size is larger. Similarly, smaller characters, such as Rocket Raccoon, will be proportionally smaller.
